Hello! My name is Margarita Arizmendi, I am a lawyer, a legal translator  and an entrepreneur.  

 

I received my Law degree with honors from Tecnologico de Monterrey, State of Mexico Campus and obtained a Master's degree in International Legal Practice from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía in Madrid, Spain. In addition, I have a Diploma in Specialized Translation and Professional Interpretation from Universidad Intercontinental (Mexico), and have studied various courses on American law, legal English, legal translation and translation project management, among others. I was appointed as sworn translator by the Federal Judiciary Council of Mexico on December 2019.

I have more than ten years of experience working as associate lawyer with several law firms in Mexico, Spain and the USA, where I have provided legal advice in corporate, contractual, insurance, and data privacy matters, and I have also worked as legal manager within the legal department of international companies in the financial (insurance) and consumer sectors, being responsible for corporate, contractual, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.

I decided to start a business as a legal, financial and personal documents translator and also as a translation project manager relying on the knowledge acquired in my professional experience as a lawyer and in my legal and translation studies.

 

Currently I combine legal and translation work, and I will also venture into teaching soon.
